About Playhouse Mobile Dj Service
DJ Playhouse

Michigan’s very own DJ Playhouse spun his way into the professional music game in summer 1997 as a 19-year-old kid in Kalamazoo with big dream. After his first official gig at the Bernhart Center, he landed his first nightclub gig at Club Soda, where during his two-year run he tightened his beats under the eyes of Lansing, Michigan DJ Cutt Nice and DJ Crazy Caz, who’s now spinning in Australia. While at Club Soda, Playhouse also elevated his musical game by hitting the airways. In fall of 98 he took over the controls at Western Michigan University’s 89.1 WIDR FM on Saturday nights with John Reed.

Playhouse’s next club gig took him to the Nouveau Room on Thursday nights in 1999. But in the new millennium he took his mixing talents to downtown Kalamazoo to Kegger’s.

In 2001, it was deja vous for DJ Playhouse and the Nouveau Room. That August Playhouse elevated his career in the Hip Hop industry by playing for Twista’s “Do or Die Concert. This Midwest connection with the fast-spitting rapper from Chicago turned out to be the beginning of Playhouse’s concert spinning exposure.

In 2002, he hit the stage at the Miller Auditorium at Western Michigan University with two of the rap industry’s veterans: Slip ‘N Slide’s very own Baddest Chick Trina, who was touring with then Roc-a-fella Records artist Memphis Bleek Concert. But Playhouse kept saturating the local market by landing two-year gig with The Blue Dolphin on Friday nights.

DJ Playhouse also is using his celebrity to help educate young people. He not only hits up their prom promoting positive partying, but he teamed up with fellow DJ John Reed to host a Hip Hop summit in Gary, Indiana in 2006.

But the City of Kalamazoo made sure to keep tabs on their favorite DJ. In August 2007, the City booked Playhouse for its series of block parties held every Sunday between 4 PM to 8 PM.

DJ Playhouse has also hit the NFL. In 2004, fellow Kalamazoo-native T.J. “The Diesel Duckett booked him for his birthday bash. That venture has become an annual event every January in “Da Zoo.

There more to DJ Playhouse than spinning records and CDs. He owns his own recording studio and digital record pool, creates his own club mixes and is working toward his goal of opening up his own club.

In 2007 DJ Playhouse team up with a promoter MKE Entertainment and played every week Saturday at a club called Gregory’s on MLK Blvd. in Lansing Mi. Also playhouse played at an after party for Lil Wayne concert. April 6th on a boat in Lansing called the Michigan Princess.
In April of 2008 Playhouse also played at the State Theatre Downtown Kalamazoo and opened for Mike Bonner (BET Comic View) and Bro-man (Martin Lawerance show) on April 12th. Summer of 2008 Playhouse will teach a class at the Boys and Girls Club in Kalamazoo that teaches kids how to record there own music in a recording studio. He will also be a judge for a talent show that the city of Kalamazoo is organizing fall of 2008. He currently does shows once a week @ The Cadillac Club in Lansing Mi. on Friday nights.

In May of 2009 Dj Playhouse will play at the Chenery Auditorium for a Atlanta based artist Lil Scrappy. He also has owned his own Barber and Beauty Shop in Kalamazoo since 1998. In 2011 Dj Playhouse applies his years of experience to weddings in West Michigan and Northern Indiana. He provides couples with over 50,000 songs to choose from and gives them the ultimate live Dj experience. He also offers free wedding planning services for couples that might need a little help planing there special day.
